hello friends!
while it is short, here is your monthly playlist! feel free to send me your favorite version of this shabad! also, any tracks you like, i love sharing keertan. it’s one of my favorite love languages.
& here is the shabad that the artwork is illustrating:
i do not write and share any gurbani written in gurmukhi on your letters and opt for english transliterations of any lines of gurbani i share. gurbani should always be treated and kept with respect. i include gurbani as a part of much of my artwork, so please keep that with the satkaar/respect gurbani deserves. the letters are less important, so i keep gurbani in its original form off of them and share the shabads here for you to read and do your own research on.
& here is a glossary for terms used in the letter. i will do my best to explain words in a way that is accessible & simplified. bhul chuk maaf // please forgive me for any mistakes, and please correct me. if you want more context to any words, you are welcome to reach out. hope this helps!
kamaee — all that we have earned spiritually
akaal purkh — the timeless one (a name for the divine)
naam simran — the sikh practice of meditation on the name of the divine
paath -- sikh prayers
ardaas — a specific sikh prayer that is meant to be done every day. it is a prayer of remembrance of our ancestors, martyrs, gurus, one of gratitude, and also one to ask from the divine.
feel free to ask if you have any questions, share if you have any suggestions — and please do send me feedback! i love to hear what you all think of the work every month. it means the most to me when we get to connect and you engage with the art.
with love,
hk.
