this collection, the “garden of shabad,” is made of illumination artworks inspired by puratan art styles & motifs, created in a distinctly cozy, intimate style. the pencil sketch technique & the calming singular colors are both meant to evoke the comfort of deep connection. sikh devotion is humble & the poetry of shabad is stunningly grand. the magnificence of gurbani is worshipped in every stroke on the page.

gurbani solace series
during the uncertainty and hurt of 2020, community from all over the world shared ਸ਼ਬਦ (shabads) and lines of ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ (gurbani) that gave them hope in the face of helplessness. pieces part of this series are illustrations of these shabads that sangat holds so close to them, with the hope that we find even brief moments of solace in ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ (the guru's shabad) when beholding these works.
these pieces are great for a gallery wall and can be bought in bundles of 3, 4, 6, & 9, just add pieces to cart for the bundle pricing to take effect.

our sangat is diverse and each sikh is unique - my hope is that you will find the faces and spirits of many that you know & love in these characters and stickers. representation matters.

while kaurs carry so much of the invaluable weight of the panth, our existence is disproportionately less-documented. your daughters, the daughters of the panth, they deserve to see their worth and existence celebrated on the walls of the sikh spaces they occupy.

this piece comes directly from the artist's sketchbook, made in pen and ink, created between the years of 2014 - 2019, years filled with emotion, change, and personal growth. this series is made of ink spilled out of the heart onto paper in moments of longing for connection to the divine. sharing these with you is sharing a piece of my heart. i have preserved every imperfection, and every original stroke laid on these pages, and made them into prints, available to roam the world now.
each piece in this sketchbook series is inspired by gurbani and created to honor sikhi and the strength of identity.

all pieces currently for sale are hand-drawn on a digital canvas called procreate, and then printed in-house on a heavy weight, acid-free, archival matte canvas paper & signed by the artist.
any piece published to our website that involves gurbani has been proofread by at least 5 sikhs who are well-versed in gurbani (& who endlessly support my work) and has been cross-referenced with sri guru granth sahib ji.
the digital painting process uses no AI and focuses on creating pieces with a hand-crafted feel. the work is meticulous, detailed, layered brush by brush, and uses serene colors picked by the artist, and gurbani calligraphy, all written stroke by stroke.

when your order has been shipped (after 1-3 days of processing time), you will receive a shipping confirmation including a tracking number. please use this to follow your new artwork's journey and stay up to date on the expected delivery date.
domestic shipping (all 50 states in US)
our standard shipping option can expect orders to be delivered in 3-5 business days after processing. orders under $40 will incur a shipping fee of $5; orders over $40 will receive free shipping. additionally, we have a 2-day shipping option, where you can expedite your shipment to be delivered in 2 business days after processing time. please see the cost of 2-day shipping at checkout.
international shipping
currently, we only have one available option for shipping internationally. please allow 6-10 business days for shipping. all orders under $125 USD will incur a shipping fee of $13 USD; orders over $125 USD will receive free shipping.
